Meta has announced two development tools that let users create games for its Horizon social platform with AI prompts. Horizon Create will be a mobile app, while the browser-based Horizon Studio will offer more detailed controls. The tools will be available in early access through a waitlist, and published games may be recommended on Facebook.
Meta’s new Muse Charm AI device resembles a Tamagotchi in appearance. According to TechCrunch, its dangling form aligns with a Gen Z trend of bag charms, retro technology and gadgets used as fashion accessories.
Two developers say they independently prompted Meta Muse to compress and share the full contents of its root filesystem, including Ubuntu files, app templates and internal documentation. One said the result was easy to reproduce and that the model had little resistance to prompt injection. Meta denies that the incident represents a security breach.
Social media users allege that Muse, Meta’s new consumer-facing AI agent, was built directly on OpenClaw. According to an Apptopia estimate cited by The Verge, Muse reached the top of the App Store after launch and has 600,000 daily active users in the US.
Google Photos has broadly made available on Android and iOS an AI-powered feature that creates a virtual wardrobe from users’ photos. According to TechCrunch, the feature had first begun rolling out to Android users in June.
A Verge columnist says she asked her Muse AI agent, which she named Blorbo, for health goals and a workout routine. She found the response only middling, but says the mascot’s appearance became more striking in light of what the system had learned about her.
ElevenLabs, which provides AI voices used in many customer service calls, is reportedly valued at $22 billion. Its CEO said businesses should tell people when they are speaking with a machine, at least until that becomes expected.
Google plans to launch an orbital data center prototype on October 1 to test AI computing in space. The satellite will have four TPUs and will assess radiation and temperature effects as well as its cooling system; tests are expected to run for only 15 minutes at a time.
