Meta’s Muse pairs an AI agent with a charm amid security questions

Meta has launched Muse, a consumer-facing AI agent, alongside the Muse Charm, a keychain with a display for a customizable avatar and a fingerprint sensor. The accessory evokes a Tamagotchi while aligning with trends around bag charms, retro tech and gadgets as fashion accessories. According to an Apptopia estimate cited by The Verge, Muse rose to the top of the App Store after launch and has 600,000 daily active users in the US.

The product has also prompted technical questions. Social media users have alleged that Muse was built directly on OpenClaw, though The Verge reports only clear similarities between the platforms. Two developers said they were able to prompt Muse to zip and share the contents of its filesystem; Meta denied that the incident amounted to a security breach.
